Polo on the Plains with Mary Blair

This summer I attended Polo on the Plains, which is a benefit for Kidzcope, as well as a fun day of Polo matches, hat contests, auctions, and of course delicious snacks, drinks and of course a tiny pony!

This being my first Polo match, I decided to go with a classic Kentucky Derby inspiration for my look, and of course featuring Pinup Girl Clothing, because… it’s what I do!

Let’s talk a little about my dress:

Last year, Pinup Girl Clothing came out with their holy grail collection, The Magic of Mary Blair! I fell in love with the collection and have quite a few pieces of my own, they’ve since added new pieces that are simply gorgeous. In case you didn’t know, Mary Blair is a Disney legend, she was one of Walt Disney‘s favorite artists and is known for her original artwork for some of the early Disney classics as well as the art for It’s a Small World.

I am wearing the Pink Umbrella Print, which I thought would be perfect for a Polo Match. The Evelyn Dress is simply the cutest, but it does run a little tight, I am wearing my standard medium, but the waist and bust is a touch tight, and if I had realized this sooner I would have sized up. However, I like to say, “if it zips it fits!” This dress is currently discontinued, but they do have the same pattern in a new style, here. My shoes were my comfy go-to Jessica Simpson ballet flats.

I also carried with me a classic box bag that was my Grandmothers. I seriously adore it. Plus, there’s a built in mirror!

Not only was the event a total success and a ton of fun, but I was interviewed for VIP Wichita Magazine!

Thanks for the read, I am going to really get better at posting more, I promise!
